Siena is one of the most beautiful city in Italy and all the World know its historic, artistic and architectural heritage. That’s the reason why its medieval historic centre was declared Human’s Heritage by UNESCO in the 1995. In the city we can also find the Monte dei Paschi Bank, the most ancient bank in the world founded in 1472. The city of Siena is rich of religious architectures such as the Dome of the city or the Sanctuary of Santa Cristina or the Synagogue. Infact Siena is the seat of one of the most ancient Jewish community wich lived in Siena since XIII century. The Synagogue rise up in the ancient quarter where, from 1571 to 1859, was the seat of ghetto back of Piazza del Campo. There are numerous palaces, really beauty and with a great artistic importance, such as Palazzo Salimbeni, the seat of the Monte dei Paschi Bank or the magnificent Palazzo Patrizi seat of “Accademia degli Intronati” with its beautiful rooms with their ornament and their fresco ceilings. Furthermore if you are in Siena you must visit Piazza del Campo, the Torre del mangia or the Fonte Gaia the biggest fountain in the city. The fountain is located in Piazza del Campo and ii’s called “Gaia” wich means “Happy”, because of when the fountain was introduced the crowd couldn’t hold the happiness and so it was decided to called the fountain “Gaia”. Siena is a city so rich in beauty and harmony that’s impossible to gather together all its attractions because you risk to forget something such as a particular glimpse!
